No other digital dictation manufacturer other than Philips has a way to send voice from the dictator to the transcriber without using a PC or Laptop. Everyone else has you using USB ports on a specific PC to send the files; ever run out of USB ports on a computer or worse have the computer just decide that you can no longer use that USB port (otherwise known as a USB collision). The 9610 LAN Cradle has it's own IP address so you no longer have to use your PC to send voice files (dictation) through your computer. GNDS sets up the LAN Cradle somewhere locally, close to where you dictate and you simply place the LFH DPM9600 in the cradle and the dictation is sent to your transcriber while never having to turn on your computer at your desk....simply put this means you do not have to use a computer to benefit from the ease of use of digital dictation.
